8th Grade Students Blast Off at Bronx Science Fair

A group of ICS 8th grade students earned tenth place overall in the Bronx Science Fair this spring.  Their project, which was chosen to represent ICS at the fair, examined how adjusting the nose and fins on a small, air pressure-powered rocket would impact its flight distance.  “I was impressed by how carefully the students followed the scientific method and clearly explained their work,” explained Marina Jimenez, the middle school Science teacher.  “All of our students were in the science lab practically every single day for over a month, so it is great to see their hard work recognized!”
