Learning to Look Art Appreciation
Students in grades 2-5 enjoy in-depth art appreciation and art history lessons from arts educators through the Learning to Look program. Each grade studies the basic elements of art such as form, shape, texture, space and line, and then focuses on a different artistic movement or theme. Students are encouraged to reflect on what they see, state their opinions and think critically about what they’ve learned. The program culminates in a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art where they view the works they studied in the classroom.
