Last year we featured Ms. Leslie Limardo in our “spotlight,” highlighting her involvement with the Parent Association and the workshops she provided at ICS. This year we are happy to report that, thanks largely to the leadership of Ms. Limardo and other dedicated parents, our Parent Ambassadors are more active than ever!

For the first time this fall, our annual candy sale was managed entirely by our Parent Ambassadors. Next they put together the Halloween Party for grades 3-5. Again, the event was run entirely by parents, from ticket sales to decorations. The excitement continued in the spring, with a parent-child dance and ICS night at Chuck E. Cheese! In between planning events, the Parent Ambassadors also organized events in the community such as zumba night, and provided ICS faculty with breakfast and coffee to show their appreciation for all the hard work they put into this stressful school year.
The energy and dedication of our Parent Ambassadors has impacted the entire ICS community. Our teachers and staff appreciate the parent support, and of course enjoy the appreciation events! Other ICS parents feel more welcome, especially those whose students were new to the school this year.

“I believe our greatest accomplishment this year was working consistently as a group,” said president Ms. Limardo. “Parents are very busy with their family lives, and volunteering isn’t always easy. I’m grateful to all parents who gave their time to our group.”

The Parent Ambassadors are already looking ahead to next year, setting goals like opening their own bank account so that they can do more fundraising for causes that the school could not afford otherwise.
